About

Emagine is an after-school program with a simple belief:

It is possible to do what you love to do and be valued for it!

Emagine's 4 Dimensional Approach
Increase Academic Proficiency Develop Habits of Successful Behavior
Foster and Engage Family and Community Support Explore Students Passions

Emagine is an out-of-school-time program that was developed to meet this belief not only by improving students’ academic performance, but also by nurturing the attitudes, competencies and behaviors that will help them successfully meet a full range of challenges throughout their lives. In essence, Emagine seeks to provide students with opportunities to explore their true passions, identify and study a related area of academics in which they are genuinely interested, and then consider career paths that connect with those authentic passions and interests.

How we began...

Emagine was created by teachers in the Boston Public Schools and after school
Researchers/Practitioners at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education (PAER).
Emagine is designed to work within the frameworks of existing schools.

Emagine began at Madison Park T.V.H.S in 2002 with one class. We have followed that class
since their freshman year. At the end of the 2006 school year, our first cohort of students will
have completed the full 4-year program.

"What I like most about
Emagine is that it creates a culture of achievement at the schools. It shows peers that it is o.k. to be smart."
