1. Is my donation tax deductable?

- Yes. Emagine's account is hosted by the Boston Educational Development Foundation, which is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization. The tax exempt # is 222-514-422. To see the offical tax exempt status, click here.

2. If I become a Friend of Emagine, what do I need to do?

- Once you email us about your intention to become a Friend of Emagine, you will receive an email pairing you up with a student and a template where you can copy and paste an email to your friends, asking them to help you sponsor your student. Of course, you could also do more. We have people working with their departments, asking classmates, selling novelity items or just writing a check. The goal is $1000 per student. However creative you raise those funds are up to you.

3. What if I don't raise $1,000?

- $1,000 is a target for each student. You are not obligated to raise that amount. Whatever you can raise will help us reach our goal.

4. When I click to donate, why does it say the amount donated is less than the graph on your website?

- The amount posted on our website is more because that accounts for the amount PLEDGED by our Friends of Emagine sponsors.

5. What kind of laptops will the students get?

- When students graduate, we will buy the best laptop with the money raised from this effort. Students have shown interest in certain DELL and Apple laptops.

6. When do I need to raise the $1,000 by?

We hope to purchase laptops by June 12th, so raising the funds by June 11th will help us meet our goal.

7. When I click the Make a Donation button, it takes me to another website, why?

Givetokids.org is run by the City of Boston and our fiscal sponsor, the Boston Educational Development Foundation. This allows for us to keep accurate accounting records of each donation.

8. What is PAYPAL and why is Emagine using it to take donations?

Paypal is a webservice that allows organizations to take payments online. We feel like people are more willing to donate if the process is quick and easy and we feel paypal provides that service.
